Reba christens Norwegian Epic

Norwegian Cruise Line rolled out the red carpet for the debut of our newest ship, Norwegian Epic, and for its godmother, Reba McEntire. This queen of country music and frequent cruiser is oh-so-familiar with the freedom and flexibility of Freestyle Cruising^® and it was an honor to have her on hand to help Epic make its debut.

"I am truly honored that Norwegian Cruise Line asked me to christen Norwegian Epic, a ship that is so focused on entertainment," said Reba McEntire. "As a fan of Norwegian and Freestyle Cruising, this is very special; I'm so excited to serve as Norwegian Epic's godmother."

The largest chandelier at sea

In another “first” for Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic, the largest LED chandelier
at sea is now installed in the ship’s casino. This one-of-a-kind chandelier is:

• 21 feet tall
 
• Nearly 11 feet in diameter
 
• 2 metric tons
 
• Able to change colors with up to 255 possible variations

This impressive structure was built in Vienna, Austria by Kalmar, a leading glass crystal maker. They have designed some of the largest chandeliers for hotels and palaces around the world.
